Karl Lagerfeld presented a vintage-inspired collection for Chanel on Tuesday during Paris fashion week. Lagerfeld took over a disused wing of Paris' Grand Palais exhibition hall with a décor of black and white sketched doors and a giant fresco.
For the collection itself, a handful of the models were featured wearing bejewelled crochet snoods on their heads and day suits of sparkling faux tweed.
"'New Vintage' is a proposition for something that could last - at least I hope so", the German designer said. "This is the same attitude, the same spirit, the same name, same concept - but something for our time."
